Maintaining Romance In A Marriage Relationship

Adding a spark to your marriage with romance rekindles the sweet times you had when you were dating and can go a long way in your marriage life. If you have a disconnect with your husband or wife, its time you took a keen consideration to bring change if at all you want your relationship to survive for a lifetime. There are quite a number of things that married partners can do for each other to bring unending love in their marriage bond. Romance does not necessarily have to be expensive. It can be based on a variety of factors like simple love gestures and talk.

Creating romance is one way of improving your marriage relationship. Don’t expect to receive this gift if you can’t give it out. You can start by being romantic in a variety of ways from appreciating yourself, dressing up, cooking nice meals, playing music and anything fancy you like. These are some simple activities that will make your partner interested and want to do participate more with you.  Consider pleasant sharing of the day’s events or past memories when you go to bed before you fall asleep. Hugging and keeping close body contact will bring a peaceful sensation which is good for a healthy relationship.

Play is one thing that many couples lack. If you find your relationship quite boring, you can bring up some form of play just like you used to do when you were dating. You can run after each other around the house or even watch cartoons or comedies together. Play connects you to your partner as it relives the tension by bringing laughter and happiness in the relationship. Playing games sets an opportunity to talk and get away from the norm which might quite be boring. Playing brings about a new dimension in your relationship which will always be remembered for a long time.

Assuming that your partner knows what you want doesn’t work right. Complaining, nagging and demanding won’t work either. You should take a step and ask your partner what you want in your romantic life. Do this with sweet romantic words to capture your partners’ attention. Verbalizing your feelings rather than being defensive and hostile when problems arise makes communication smooth. Avoid interrupting or making conclusions when your partner is voicing his or her fears. Instead, listen with an open mind without talking until your turn to talk comes.

Appreciating your partner after doing little things such as cleaning dishes is great. Showing your likeness for tasks or favors done to you will increase more acts of love vital in a romantic relationship. You can send a text message to your partner at work and thank him for something he did like preparing and bringing you breakfast in bed. Inviting your wife for lunch or dinner in a nice setting away from where you frequent is special and will save her the effort of cooking which she will appreciate you for. Leaving small gifts for your husband in a place he will see is also romantic and he will want to do the same in future.

Talking and listening are very important aspects in a romantic relationship. Sit facing each other and maintain good eye contact when talking. Holding hands will show that you care even when dealing with very difficult matters. A time out is good when the situation seems to get out of hand. You can develop a signal system like a hand squeeze when such cases arise. Try your best to reach a point of agreement as opposed to winning. Remember to speak the truth when talking to your partner. Keeping secrets will create disconnect in your relationship and your partner will feel unsecure if you conceal ideas and views.
