What You Didn’t Know About Friendship

Friendship is one of the most amazing gifts anyone could ever have in their lifetime no matter their age. This relationship can start from an early age and continue throughout one’s life with different persons. Your friends can bring out the very best in you and you should make them feel warm as well. Having a friend is an emotional bond that starts from childhood to adulthood and brings happiness in ones life for several reasons that make the bond closer. It is important to keep old friends and make new ones as you go on with life although it may seem quite a task to many.

A friend will always come in times of need and this can even be seen in childhood play at a very young age when kids bond up to teach each other new games and support each other in difficult situations in the course of their play. The need to have a friend increases from childhood into adolescence stage. This crucial stage in life needs a nurturing relationship in boys and girls for social and emotional development. For instance, girls will find it easy discussing matters to do with their body changes than they would with their parents or guardians. Parents should therefore not discourage kids from having friends as long as they are disciplined.

Many people will like to have friends they identify with in terms of likes. Emotional support will also prod many people to find friends even without realizing it. Friendships make men and women have gratifying exchanges of feelings and ideas and form healthy communications. Such exchanges bring about validation, increased self esteem and absolute happiness. Fulfillment in friends’ relationships does not necessarily have to come from material gifts. Someone can really value you as his or her acquaintance when you seek to help him or her out in times of trouble. Again, making each other feel self-worth through honest opinions, compliments and suggestions brings special lift and a sense of fulfillment that lasts for a long time.

The impact of true friendship can be instantly felt. There is also the physical part of it that can’t be ignored. People who value each other as friends can enjoy internal and external gains. Close bonds make people form supportive groups such as an exercise team. This brings about the external glow which includes improved flexibility, weight, complexion and tone. Internal aspects that come about with the bond formed by friends include improved blood pressure, normal heart rate and reduced stress as a result of happiness in the company of each other. People who have friends can therefore easily prosper than people who don’t have friends as they quickly bring ideas together and work to implement them.

When friendships break, a simple hug or even laughter misses on one’s life and can really create havoc in one’s life both physically and psychologically. It is good to create time for your friends so that you may know them better. Closeness creates a sense of security. It’s normal to disagree on opinions but always remember to respect the views of your friend. Seeing things from your friend’s perspective is good even if you disagree in views. Crossing boundaries by hating and abusing because of difference in opinion can break a long term friendship in an instance. Be wise and understand your friend. Saying sorry and thanks won’t hurt but is sensational.

Sharing is an important element in women and men friendships. Calling a friend in time of need and joy will prolong your friendship. This will make your life less stressed and healthier. Take time and remember your friends. Share good moments by celebrating together. Exchanging cards, hugs, photos and gifts are some simple signs to show your friends that you care. Recognizing your need for friendships and living in the moment will make your life better.
